Miss Nia

MISS NIA is a graduate from the University of Miami. Nia earned her Bachelors of Arts in Criminology and Political Science, while also studying history and anthropology as her minors. Nia has been dancing for 23 years, starting at Miss Sandy’s Dance Steps in New Jersey at age 2 1/2. She is trained in and has taught various levels of ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap, heels, and acrobatics/gymnastics. Nia moved on to become a student teacher at this studio when she was 12 years old, and at 13, became a junior company member for the Philadelphia Dance Company, where she trained in modern (Horton and Graham), jazz, and tap. At age 14, Nia began teaching classes of her own at a local community center on weekends. Nia has performed in ballets like The Little Mermaid, The Wizard of Oz, and The Nutcracker with En Pointe Studio in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At Burlington Township High School in Burlington, NJ, Nia was a competitive cheerleader, earning 3 state titles and a 2014 UCA National title with her team, who also starred in the documentary: American Cheerleader, which followed Nia’s varsity cheer team and a rival team from Kentucky for an entire season. Nia continues her passion in both dance and cheerleading through teaching and coaching the next generation!
