Life can be stressful – you don’t have to tell us twice! Between our own work schedules, our children’s school and social schedules, and any leftover minute or two we have for our own social lives, it can be hard to squeeze in a little fun.
You can’t work hard if you don’t play a little hard too! Dancing is an easy, cost-free way to lighten up your day – whether you’re doing it alone or with company. Here are a few ways to squeeze a little dance everywhere you go.
Wake up and dance
There’s nothing worse than waking up to the sound of your alarm clock blaring at you to get out of bed. While your coffee is brewing, try shaking it out a little. Put on some music (shout out to Alexa) and get your groove on!
Dancing and singing in the morning is one of the best ways you can start your day. Not only does it put you in an overall great mood, but it also wakes your body up! Dancing will stretch out those cramped muscles and get you loose and ready to take on the world. You can even keep the party going while you get ready for work or school.
Dance, eat, and dance some more
Sometimes, it’s hard to tell the difference between being hungry and just being bored. In either situation, dancing can help churn that appetite! It can help burn off your meal too!
While you’re making dinner, try dancing your way from the cutting board to the skillet – it’s way more fun than walking. Time for hors d’oeuvres? Do the salsa while you eat some chips and salsa.
For college students – waiting on those ramen noodles to boil in the microwave? Dance it out to each beep of the microwave countdown.
Dance while doing chores
Who says doing chores has to be boring? With a little extra jazz, anything can be fun. Also, who needs a dancing partner when you have a perfectly capable mop or broom? Dance the day away with your “date” and soon enough, all the cleaning and dusting will be done!
Have a bedtime dance party
The best way to end your day is the same as starting your day! Dance it out!
The end of the day is the perfect chance to wind down and reflect on all your accomplishments. Throw on that Taylor Swift song and do a long, deep stretching session, alternating each stretch with a bit of dance for that cardio. This will also lead to a deeper sleep!
Try to work in a little dance into your daily routine. And, maybe encourage your little ones to do the same! All for Dance offers children aged 2 and up and a variety of different dance classes. Register your child today!
